Environmental Approach

The Bandai Namco Group focuses its initiatives for the environment around the slogan “Fun for the future,” promoting activities that bring joy to stakeholders and society, while also having fun. At NAMCO BANDAI Games we play our part by conducting environmental activities in line with this slogan, employing a three-sided approach defined by eco-products, eco-management and eco-communication.

ECO PRODUCT

ECO PRODUCTS are our response to the environment at the product level. An important part of this is providing quality products that consistently satisfy our customers. We addressed this in 2005 by issuing our Green Procurement Guidelines, the first of their kind in the industry. In April 2009 we widened the scope of our quality initiatives beyond product quality in our Manufacturing Standards which comprehensively set quality standards in all corporate activities, including development, production, sales, servicing and response to the environment.

ECO MANAGEMENT

ECO MANAGEMENT initiatives link environmental activities to business activities. For example, we participate in Cool Biz and Warm Biz—seasonal campaigns to cut back on use of air conditioning in offices. During these campaigns we provide visitors to our offices with fans or lap-blankets to make them comfortable.

ECO COMMUNICATION

ECO COMMUNICATION initiatives aim to raise awareness of the environment among our employees. Activities include clean up activities carried out alongside local residents, collecting employees’ used clothes for recycling, and supporting employees in the acquisition of Eco Test certification. Through these and other activities, we are working to improve the environmental awareness of each individual employee. In 2010 we participated in a Butterfly Street Project
Promoted by Shinagawa Ward in Tokyo. We created a flower bed onsite at our Headquarters, using plants that butterflies like to create a nature display. Pictures of this “Butterfly Restaurant” were published on the official website of the Butterfly Street Project, as well as that of NAMCO BANDAI Games.

Going forward, NAMCO BANDAI Games will actively pursue its environmental activities, working toward a future in which the global society in which our customers live is a green and sustainable one.
